Lindsey’s boyfriend, Darren, and his family, little brother, Ruben, and mother, Alma, took us on a drive around the stunning coast of Northern Ireland. My favorite place was here, Giant’s Causeway. Magma cooled very quickly and formed giant hexagonal crystals here. I watched and captured the longest sunset I’ve ever experienced, since we are so far north.

Ireland has exceeded all of my expectations and is one of the top three most beautiful places I’ve ever been.

I have made my way from the southern tip of Ireland in Blarney and  Cork to Derry, Northern Ireland with some stops along the way in Doolin to see the Cliffs of Moher, and in Galway. I eventually met up with Lindsey, my backpacking buddy, in Derry, where she has been studying this past semester. We then went to Glasgow and Edinburgh, Scotland for the weekend. They were beautiful towns filled with old buildings and friendly people. We successfully couchsurfed there, as well!

And now, we are back in Derry where I got to spend a week taking it easy preparing for the big part of our Journey. I got the chance to spend the night in a quaint village with Lindsey’s Irish boyfriend’s family. Yesterday his family took us on a trip around the coast. I will post more photos of it soon.

We leave monday for Dublin and the beginnings of the biggest adventure of our life, two months backpacking around Europe. I probably won’t have much time to update my blog, but will if I can. I will be sure to update my facebook status with each city I’m in.
